Luke Irons

Deputy Senior Clerk

Overview

Luke is one of the Joint Deputy Senior Clerks. He joined Maitland Chambers in July 2019. As deputy to John Wiggs, Luke assists in leading the clerking team, focusing on the development of the barristers’ practices, fee negotiation and building and maintaining client relationships.

He has been a barristers' clerk for 23 years. Prior to joining Maitland Chambers Luke spent just over 18 and a half years at Stone Chambers (now part of The 36 Group) and before then had junior clerk positions in two Lincoln's Inn sets.

He completed his Certificate in Management (2010/11) and completed an Executive MBA with Merit at Oxford Brookes University graduating in 2014.

He is also an active member of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks (IBC), focusing on Education and International Developments and represents the IBC as a representative on the Bar Council International Committee.
