Maitland welcomes two new tenants
We are pleased to welcome Oliver Clement and Maud Millar as members of Maitland, following the successful completion of their pupillages.
Oliver and Maud have gained wide-ranging experience across the breadth of chambers' practice areas and completed a rigorous in-house advocacy training programme.
Oliver Clement read law at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he took a first-class degree and various academic prizes. At Oxford, he was a keen advocate, winning several moots at the national and international level. He subsequently completed the Bar Training Course, in which he received a distinction, and during which he was awarded the Lord Millet Equity Prize by Lincoln's Inn.
Maud Millar read English at Clare College, Cambridge, where she was Senior Choral Scholar. She subsequently trained as an opera singer and pursued a successful international career as a lyric soprano. Upon retiring from the stage, she joined the Teach First programme where she served as both Action Network Chair and Innovation Network Chair. She went on to co-found Adapt, a national EdTech platform for GCSE and A-Level students. In recognition of her work, she received several national honours. Maud was awarded Distinctions in both the GDL and the Bar Course and is a Princess Royal Scholar of The Inner Temple.
Head of Chambers, Michael Gibbon KC, says: “Oliver and Maud have performed excellently throughout their pupillages with us. Members of Chambers are delighted that they are joining Maitland and we look forward to seeing their practices thrive over the coming years."
