Maud has a broad commercial chancery practice, with a particular focus on Company & Partnership, Commercial Litigation & Arbitration, and Insolvency & Asset Recovery, alongside a developing Media & Entertainment practice. She accepts instructions across all of Chambers’ core practice areas, both as sole counsel and as part of a team.
Her recent Company & Partnership work includes acting in substantial unfair prejudice proceedings concerning a civil engineering business and in a significant shareholder dispute which settled successfully shortly before trial. Her previous experience as CEO and co-founder of a national EdTech platform gives her a practical understanding of commercial pressures, restructuring and shareholder relations.
In Commercial Litigation & Arbitration, Maud’s recent work includes acting in the Glencore investor litigation, and in an international arbitration concerning interests in an aviation business. She has also worked on a substantial contractual dispute concerning carried interest in a private equity fund, and been instructed as independent review counsel in complex international litigation concerning a substantial family fortune.
In Insolvency & Asset Recovery, Maud has an ongoing consultancy arrangement with specialist insolvency firm Isadore Goldman, advising on a range of corporate and personal insolvency matters. Her recent work includes claims involving transactions at an undervalue, directors’ duties and misfeasance, applications for examination and disclosure in bankruptcy proceedings, and disputes concerning winding-up petitions and statutory demands. She has experience advising both office-holders and those facing claims arising from insolvency.
In Media & Entertainment, Maud is instructed in a contractual dispute involving an established recording artist, and as sole counsel in a television production dispute concerning the termination of a producer’s engagement. Her training and previous career as an opera singer give her a particular interest in disputes involving performers and the creative industries.

- Working as part of the counsel team which also included Siward Atkins KC and Kendya Goodman in a substantial contractual dispute in the private equity sector.
- Acting as independent review counsel on issues of legal professional privilege in complex international litigation concerning a substantial family fortune.
- Acting as sole counsel in a claim concerning the interpretation and application of a membership organisation’s internal rules.

Maud works closely with specialist insolvency firm Isadore Goldman on an ongoing basis, advising on a range of corporate and personal insolvency matters. Her recent work includes:
- Advising on substantial claims arising from a company's liquidation, involving alleged transactions at an undervalue, breaches of directors' duties, misfeasance and proprietary claims to assets.
- Advising trustees in bankruptcy in connection with investigations into a bankrupt's affairs, including applications for examination and production of documents under section 366 of the Insolvency Act 1986 and potential recovery claims against third parties.
- Advising on disputes concerning winding-up petitions, including applications to restrain presentation or advertisement where the underlying debt is disputed.
- Advising on the enforceability of disputed debts and settlement agreements in the context of threatened statutory demands and insolvency proceedings.

Media & Entertainment
Maud is developing a practice in commercial disputes within the media and entertainment industries, with recent instructions in music and television. Current instructions include:
- Acting as junior counsel to Amanda Hadkiss in a contractual dispute between a music promoter and an established recording artist and his company, including drafting pleadings and preparing the case for trial.
- Acting as sole counsel in a television production dispute concerning the termination of a producer’s engagement, including issues of contractual discretion and good faith.
