King’s Counsel Appointments
We are delighted that Olivier Kalfon and Watson Pringle will be appointed to the rank of King’s Counsel in a ceremony in the spring before the Lord Chancellor.
This will bring the number of King’s Counsel at Maitland to 23, alongside 50 junior barristers.
Olivier specialises in commercial litigation, with a strong emphasis on business disputes, often with an international dimension, civil fraud, company, insolvency, and banking and financial services litigation. He is recognised in numerous practice areas in the legal directories, who have described him as "an outstanding advocate with exceptional analytical ability and a calm, authoritative presence" who "turns judges around, and is very impressive in court".
Watson specialises in commercial and chancery disputes, particularly those involving allegations of dishonesty and jurisdiction and conflicts of law issues. He has been involved in some of the biggest commercial disputes in the courts in recent years. He is consistently celebrated by the legal directories who describe him as "absolutely outstanding" and he has previously been awarded ‘Chancery Junior of the Year' at the Chambers UK Bar Awards.
Everyone at Maitland warmly congratulates Olivier and Watson on their well-deserved appointments.
