Richard specialises in commercial litigation, property litigation and professional negligence.

He frequently appears in the High Court, both led and unled, with substantial experience of complex and high-value trials. Having undertaken pupillage at a leading criminal set, Richard prides himself on his advocacy particularly his cross-examination. Prior to coming to the bar, Richard worked at the Texas Defender Service in Houston representing clients on death row.

      Richard is regularly instructed in matters which involve allegations of fraud or dishonesty. Current instructions include:

      • Acting for a SIPP investor which alleges a fraud against an unregulated financial adviser.
      • Acting for a company alleging fraudulent misrepresentation.

      Richard acts in all areas of property law, including both commercial and residential landlord and tenant law. He has a particular interest in boundary disputes and claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996. He is experienced in business rates cases.
